Most roof vent orders start with one simple check: are you replacing the whole hatch, just the broken lid, or adding a powered fan for better airflow? Measure the roof opening first. If the old vent is still fitted, take a photo of the brand, hinge, winder and inside frame so you can match the right style before ordering.
For a complete replacement, start with hatches and skylights and measure the roof cut-out before comparing styles. Common caravan roof vent openings include 280 x 280mm, 355/356mm square, 400 x 400mm, 500 x 500mm and 700 x 500mm. Also check roof thickness, inside trim depth, corner shape and whether the old vent was sealed or framed differently.
A 12V exhaust vent is useful for bathrooms, showers, cooking areas and hot vans where natural airflow is not enough. Compare the cut-out size, fan direction, rain dome or rain sensor, remote control, thermostat, LED light, blind and insect screen. If only the lid is broken, do not choose by size alone. Ventline, Jensen and Elixir lids can look similar but use different hinges, winders and screens. You can often identify the brand from the flyscreen. Ventline screens are about 340mm square. Jensen screens are about 355mm square with the winder hole about 55mm from the start of the mesh. Elixir screens are also about 355mm square, but the winder hole is about 75mm from the start of the mesh.
For Dometic and Seitz Heki skylights, identify the exact model before choosing parts. Mini Heki, Midi Heki and Heki 2 parts are not automatically interchangeable, and push-bar, crank, electric and LED versions can change the correct frame, dome, blind, stay or mounting kit.
