Formerly known as Seitz, the Heki skylight family is now sold under the Dometic name. These RV roof hatches are common in Australian caravans and are usually identified by their roof opening size, internal frame size, and opening style.
All Heki models share a few useful features:
Start by measuring the internal frame and checking the opening method. The lid size alone can be misleading, especially if the old hatch has been replaced or parts have been mixed over time.
When ordering parts, check whether you need a complete hatch, an internal frame, mounting clips, dome/lid parts, blind/screen parts or model-specific hardware. Many blind and insect-screen parts are supplied as frame assemblies rather than individual mesh or blind fabric.
The Mini Heki is the most compact model in the Heki range. It has a lightly tinted dome and an internal frame with retractable insect screen and block-out blind. It fits a 400mm x 400mm roof opening and can be identified by an internal frame measuring about 520mm x 520mm.
There are two Mini Heki styles, and they can be identified even though they share the same internal frame:
For spare parts, the most common request is for the insect screen or blind. These are usually supplied as the complete internal frame rather than individual screen or blind fabric. We also have parts diagrams showing the available components.
The Midi Heki is a rectangular skylight with a double-glazed dome and an internal frame with integrated insect screen and block-out blind. It has been available in crank, push-bar and electric opening styles.
The same hatch lid is used across several Midi Heki styles, but many other parts are model specific. The Midi Heki can be identified by its internal frame measurement of 785mm x 575mm. We have a range of spare part diagrams for the different styles.
Towards the end of 2018 Dometic discontinued the classic Midi Heki and replaced it with the updated LED Midi Heki. This model has a newer roof dome and adjustable LED lighting in the internal frame. The roof opening dimensions remained the same, and it is available with push-bar or crank opening systems.
All installations require the newer mounting clips, available for roof thicknesses from 25mm to 60mm.
The Heki 2 is the largest model in this guide. It has an internal frame measuring about 1000mm x 700mm and opens with a metal bar handle assisted by two pneumatic springs. Like the smaller models, it uses a double-glazed dome with integrated insect screen and block-out blind.
