Roll-out awnings suit many caravans, pop-tops and flat-sided motorhomes. They usually need wall-mounted hardware plus the roller/fabric assembly. For a new installation, suitable sail track is also needed.
This is the main path for Dometic 8700 awnings, older Dometic A&E 8300/8500/9000 models, Carefree Fiesta awnings, Sunburst Classic Awnings, Sunburst Eclipse Awnings, and Lippert Solera awnings.
For new Dometic complete awnings, the 8700 is the usual current manual roll-out path. The 8300 and 8500 are older styles, but they still matter when identifying existing arms, fabric and spare parts.
Wall-mounted box and cassette awnings store inside a hard case and suit many campervans, motorhomes and caravans where a compact side-mounted case is preferred.
Fiamma F45 Awnings and Fiamma F80 Awnings are enclosed case awnings. Thule 4200 Awnings, Thule 5200 Awnings, Thule 6300 Awnings and Dometic box awnings are also cassette-style options.

Roof-rack mounted case awnings suit 4WDs, roof racks, wind-up camper trailers and compact camper setups where the awning cannot be mounted like a normal caravan wall awning.
Fiamma F35 Pro Awnings is the main option here. It is a lighter manual case awning often used where a rack or compact mounting setup is needed.
Bag awnings pack into a soft vinyl bag and usually slide into sail track. They are often a simple path for wind-up camper trailers, smaller campervans and light touring setups.

Check whether the awning is a complete powered awning, a fabric-on-roll replacement, or a spare-parts job. Motors, arms, switches, controllers and hardware do not usually interchange across brands or model families.
For Dometic, Carefree, Aussie Traveller/Sunburst and similar roll-out awnings, do not measure the vinyl. For a new awning or replacement vinyl, measure from the centre of one arm to the centre of the other arm. Roll-out awnings are sold in foot increments, so round the arm-to-arm measurement to the nearest foot.
