This genuine Suburban magnesium anode rod is a replacement for Suburban tank hot water systems. It acts as a sacrificial anode to absorb the corrosive action of hot water, helping protect the porcelain-lined steel tank, and also serves as the tank drain plug.
This anode has a magnesium core and is intentionally sacrificial - it will corrode instead of your tank. Suburban recommends checking and/or replacing the anode at least annually.
Non-genuine alternatives may also be suitable (search "Anode" for options).
Safety Notice - Applies only to hot water systems with serial numbers 953401118-974400950.
When removing the anode, take care not to drop the orifice inside the tank. Always replace carefully.

Requested additional item prior to delivery and received an email stating to add via the order number but this did not work and tried several times then requested and paid for express delivery and had to wait over 8 days for delivery
