Our Recommendation Promise

Buy the part we recommend for your setup. If we get it wrong, we’ll cover return postage and delivery of the correct replacement.

Description

This is the replacement centre/main lock for Camec 3-point security doors. The upper and lower remote latches are separate parts.

For this left-hand version, stand outside the recreational vehicle and look at the door: the hinges must be on the left.

Please note: The lock barrel and keys are not included. Transfer a compatible barrel from the existing handle or purchase one separately.

Removal and fitting

Slide the locking snib down to reveal the hidden third retaining screw, then remove the three screws to release the inner and outer main-lock sections.

Do not remove the main lock and remote latches at the same time. Keep at least one lock or latch fitted so the aluminium rack remains in position; if it drops, aligning the rack and latch gear becomes more difficult.

See the attached PDF for the complete fitting procedure, including rack engagement and barrel positioning.

Our Comments

Tip - How to remove your old lock barrel (without aqua/grey logo on handle):

After removing lock assembly from the door, hold the handle open, then turn and pull the rear metal lock activator (cylinder).
To remove the key barrel, working from the rear, depress the small metal wafer into the lock while the lock is rotated so the square protrusions on the lock line up with the gaps in the housing. The lock should now slide out the front.
