Dometic 8700 right torsion assembly also suits both the A&E 8500 awning and the A&E 9000 awning. Includes the complete right-hand end assembly, including spring, rod, pin drive and top casting.
You can fit 8700 springs to an 8300 tube; however, both springs require changing over as you cannot use one of each. It may be cheaper to purchase a new awning with roller tube, vinyl and both springs.
To overcome the 25mm variation between the 8300 and 8500 awning lengths the 8700 torsion spring has an adjustable spindle. It is preset to suit Dometic 8300 awning length. If you are replacing a Dometic 8500 awning, adjust the right-hand top casting to the outer hole (shown on page 10 of the manual - Fig 3).
