Description

Trail-A-Mate MKII is a hydraulic caravan jack designed to lift larger and heavier caravans than the original Trail-A-Mate jockey wheel/jack. The outside diameter is 60 mm.

The included flat baseplate lets it serve as a jockey stand when mounted on the A-frame using the optional 60 mm clamp. This mounting clamp is separate from the supplied lifting clamp used for side jacking. A MK2 wheel attachment is also available separately; a wheel is not included.

For side jacking, the lifting clamp must engage with a Trail-A-Mate MKII engagement fitting on the caravan or trailer. Where fittings are not already installed, the engagement brackets are welded beneath the cross-member behind the axle, flush with the outside wall of the caravan. Some older caravans need this cross-member strengthened to accommodate the fitting.

Instructions

• Fit the solid baseplate before using the MKII as a jack.
• Use on level firm ground wherever possible, chock the wheels and keep the caravan or trailer attached to the towing vehicle.
• No person should remain in the caravan or trailer while it is being jacked.
• Use the jack for lifting and lowering only; support the raised caravan or trailer on vehicle support stands. Do not place any part of your body underneath a vehicle supported only by a jack.
• Remove the Trail-A-Mate from the caravan or trailer before travelling.

If trapped air after transport causes poor or no lifting, open the release valve and air vent valve anticlockwise, then pump the handle several times. Retighten the air vent valve without overtightening its O-ring and close the release valve, as described in the supplied manual.
