Description

The Cool-J HB9000 Plus is a ducted under-bunk reverse-cycle air conditioner for caravans, RVs and motorhomes. It provides 2.6 kW cooling and 3.2 kW heating while keeping the roof clear, making it useful where roof space, overall height or roof loading limits a rooftop air conditioner.

Conditioned air is distributed through three duct outlets. A ducting kit is not included and is required for a new installation; 5 m and 10 m kits with different outlet colours are available separately. The air conditioner is controlled from the supplied digital wall panel, handheld remote or a smartphone through its built-in Wi-Fi connection.

The unit must be installed on the floor, with openings through the vehicle floor for its airflow and drainage arrangement. Allow at least 30 mm clearance on each side and 200 mm in front for filter access. Install it level where possible, with a maximum permitted angle of 10 degrees.

The reverse-cycle heat pump is supplemented by an electric heating element at low temperatures. Cooling, heating, dehumidification, fan, timer and sleep functions provide flexible climate control for insulated vehicle interiors up to 30 m³, typically caravans and RVs up to 6.5 m long.

Our Comments

Warranty: 2 years for compressor and 1 year for other parts; for any non-human defects.

The remote is hidden in the polystyrene flap which makes up the insulation jacket.

Please Note: Fitting and installation instructions come with the unit, but it is advised a qualified installer (electrical contractor) undertakes the installation to avoid potential warranty issues. Horizontal installation only.
