Description

Plastic remote lock, suits Carefree universal hardware. This slides into the Carefree arm and releases the lock on the awning. It is a commonly used caravan spare part for repairs to Carefree awnings, the spare part diagram shows its location.

This is the 38.5in (978mm) universal-hardware version, not the shorter remote used with short hardware.

Fitting Instructions:

Keep the roller-lock lever OPEN while the end plug is detached. Moving it to CLOSE can release the wound spring violently, causing injury or damage.

• Open the awning fully. Raise and lock the left upper brace, tightening its black knob.
• Tape the right roller-lock lever OPEN. For additional restraint, the manual shows a temporary pin through the aligned left end-cap and spring holes.
• Hold the right arm and support the roller tube. Remove the end-plug screw, lift the plug off the arm and unhook the old remote.
• Slide the old remote out of the round groove. Clean the groove and insert the replacement, leaving its top above the arm.
• Hook the remote over the lever before sliding the end plug back onto the arm. Align the holes and refit the screw.
• Remove the tape and any temporary pin. See printed page 8 of the attached service manual for diagrams.
