Replacement inlet temperature probe for Girard GSWH-2 instant hot water systems. It senses incoming water temperature; it is a separate component from the outlet temperature probe and anti-freeze thermostat.
An E4 fault indicates an open or short circuit in the inlet temperature probe circuit. The cause may be the probe or its wiring connections, so E4 alone does not confirm that the probe needs replacement.
