Sphere Rambler Multi-Port Battery Box

Description

The Sphere Rambler turns a compatible 12 V deep-cycle battery into a portable power hub for camping, caravanning and 4WD touring. It accepts lithium, AGM, calcium, wet and gel batteries up to 340 x 185 x 235 mm and 35 kg, with a silicone mat and internal strap to secure the battery. The battery is not included.

Six 50 A Anderson-style input/output ports can be used for charging or powering 12 V equipment, with a 50 A maximum combined current across these six ports. Three 15 A cigarette sockets and four USB outlets, including QC 3.0, handle smaller appliances and devices. The dedicated 175 A Anderson-style connector is provided for an inverter or other high-current connection; this connector is not fused or short-circuit protected and is not disconnected by the master switch.

The display shows battery voltage, estimated state of charge and temperature. Provision is pre-wired for an optional DC-DC charger, but the dedicated alternator and solar inputs are inactive until that charger is installed. A regulated solar source or suitable battery charger can instead connect through the standard Anderson input/output ports. Supplied port covers are dust covers, so keep the ports dry.
