The receiver is the integral part of the wireless control system. While it is called a lighting system, the switches can be used to switch off any 12V item where the amperage is less than 5 amps (max 15 amps for the receiver).
This small box, which is only 95mm x 65mm, gets connected to your lights or devices with wire, but the switches can be located anywhere, and can also be paired to the remote control. The remote control can only work on the same channels that have been paired with a switch.
Components of the original Sphere Wireless Lighting System are not compatible with the Series 2.0 components and vice versa. Each system uses different technologies and should be used separately. You can easily identify the Series 2.0 switches by their black accent border.
