The easy to install Fridge Switch detects when you stop driving and automatically cuts the fridge's 12V supply after a delay to help avoid flattening your car battery.
Fridge Switch has an in-built electronic movement and vibration sensor which switches the 12V circuit of the caravan's 3-way fridge on when the vehicle is moving and turns it off after the vehicle stops. It responds to movement rather than ignition status, so it is intended for running the fridge while travelling, not for continued 12V cooling while parked.
The Fridge Switch also has a varying timing delay which may keep the fridge running for up to three minutes after you stop, to prevent it turning off during brief stops at traffic lights.
The standard switch is rated to 25A. Higher-current fridges need the additional relay arrangement shown in the attached 40A upgrade instructions. Fridges that also need 12V for gas ignition may require extra wiring so that this supply is not interrupted.
