The Ecolet Separera Mini is a self-contained composting toilet with a slim and compact design. The high-gloss, porcelain-look toilet only weighs 10kg, perfect for weight-conscious caravan designs. With no requirement for water and only a 12V connection for the fan, installation is far simpler than cassette toilets. No more external hatch cutouts are required. Solid waste could either go directly into the solids chamber or into a bio bag to be easily removed and disposed of. For those wanting to process all their waste, the solid material can be placed into an external composting chamber to create a nutrient-rich resource. With 2 generous 15L waste bins and an 8L urine collection bottle, waste management and cleaning are made much simpler and only a few consumables are required.
This composting toilet has a special urine basin at the front of the toilet bowl, which catches and diverts the urine. Urine can be emptied into another toilet or a dump point, or diluted and used as a fertiliser. Solid waste could either go directly into the solids chamber or into a bio bag to be easily removed and disposed of.
Depending on environmental conditions, waste needs around 3–6 months to compost. If you're interested in turning waste from your self-contained toilet into fertiliser, we recommend emptying the solids chamber into an external chamber to set aside and finish composting.
