The Dometic 9700 Power Awning Hardware Kit provides the support arms required to install a Dometic 9700 electric awning on caravans and motorhomes with straight walls. The kit includes the left and right telescopic arms used to mount the awning to the caravan wall and support the fabric roller assembly (sold separately).
The telescopic arms allow the mounting height to be adjusted during installation, providing flexibility to suit different caravan wall heights and awning rail positions. The right-hand arm is pre-wired to connect to the awning motor located in the roller tube assembly, allowing the system to be connected to a rocker switch and 12V power supply (both sold separately).
The 9700 hardware kit uses the same mounting footprint as the Dometic 8700 manual awning hardware, making it suitable for upgrading an existing installation to a motorised awning with minimal modification to the caravan wall.
Optional accessories such as extension covers, curved roof rafters and anti-flap kits can be added to improve awning stability and finish depending on the installation.
Installation note: The arm assemblies are under tension from their gas struts. Keep the retaining straps fitted until the arms are mounted to the vehicle so they cannot extend suddenly. Ensure the mounting points have solid structural backing and seal all fastener penetrations against moisture.
