Genuine Aussie Traveller Awning Rafter.
Curved roof rafters have a dual purpose. They are mostly used to prevent the awning canopy from sagging and hence ensure water run-off. They are also good for keeping the awning fabric taut, thus reducing wind flap. Awnings that flap can cause your RV to shake or even cause damage to the awning itself.
Aussie Traveller has produced two types of telescopic curved roof rafters (125mm & 95mm curve) - suiting most brands of rollout awnings, including Carefree Fiesta, Dometic (A&E / Sunchaser) 8300, 8500 and 8700 awnings. This rafter has a larger curve than most standard curved rafters which will provide greater tension and awning stability but could lead to fabric stretching if used for prolonged periods.
