This genuine Anderson SB50 is a genderless two-pole connector for battery, charging, solar and other DC power circuits. The same connector is used at both sides of the connection, so two units are required to make a complete inline connection.
Each unit includes one polycarbonate housing with stainless steel contact-retention springs and two silver-plated #6 AWG contacts for 13.3 mm² stranded copper cable. The housing is marked for positive and negative polarity; wire both connectors consistently so the matching poles meet.
SB50 housing colours are mechanically keyed to help separate circuits. Most colours mate only with the matching key, but grey and black SB50 housings share the same key and can mate with each other.
Disconnect the circuit before assembly. Strip 14 mm of insulation, then crimp or solder each contact to the cable. Insert each contact into the correct positive or negative cavity with the notched side of the contact tongue beside the retaining spring. Push until it clicks into place, then tug the cable lightly to confirm the contact is locked.
