Aircommand began in South Australia in 1999 and quickly became leaders in the Caravan and RV air conditioning market in Australia.
The quality and reasonable pricing of the Aircommand range saw them become one of the largest suppliers of RV air conditioners in the country. The most popular roof top units include the Ibis, Cormorant and Sparrow.
While Aircommand was acquired by American RV accessory company Atwood in 2013, the quality, pricing and availability of the products remained at the high standards previously set.
In 2015 the second largest supplier of Caravan Air Conditioners in Australia, the Dometic Group, acquired Atwood giving them a combined market share of over 75%. The acquisition has led to an increased service network with the large number of Dometic service agents Australia wide however prices have increased and some product lines (such as the popular Sandpiper) have already been dropped.
