This 12-pin flat plug fits to a trailer or caravan lead and connects to a matching 12-pin flat socket on the tow vehicle. Its five extra contacts provide auxiliary circuits for uses such as a fridge feed or battery charging. A 7-pin flat vehicle socket will not accept this 12-pin plug.
