Install the signal finder either permanently inline between the antenna and TV or connect your antenna to the signal finder when required.
The items that can effect a low signal are the quality of the antenna, if the amplifier is working, if all connections and cables are in good condition and good quality, if you are getting a direct signal, or if the signal is getting bounced off buildings or landforms.
It is surprising how often a cable is at fault where it looks to be in good condition.
