Solera Classic Awning Customer Service and Technical Staff Manual
Introduction
The Solera Classic Awning is designed for use on most recreational vehicle units, available in various sizes to accommodate even the largest RVs. For detailed assembly or component information, refer to the LCI support page.

Operation
Extending the Awning
- Loosen the black locking knobs on the mount/rafter arm upper channel and release the travel locks.
- Flip the cam lock to the roll-out position.
- Pull the awning outward using the pull rod until fully extended.
- Slide the mount/rafter arms to the top of the outer arm, ensuring they lock into place.
- Pull on the mount/rafter arm to tighten the fabric and lock it in place by tightening the black locking knob.
- Adjust the outer arms to the desired height and secure.
Optional Car Port Position
- Remove the outer arm from the unit by releasing the lever on the lower mounting bracket.
- Walk the awning out until the outer arm is vertical and secure the foot to the ground with stakes.
Retracting the Awning
- If in car port mode, first remove the stakes.
- Return the awning pull strap to the center of the awning roll tube.
- Lower the roll tube by releasing the support arm assembly handle.
- Loosen the black locking knob and release the spring clip to allow the mount/rafter arm to slide down.
- Release the tension on the springs by flipping the cam lock to the roll-in position and walk the awning in.
- Lock the arms for travel mode by compressing the outer arm and mount/rafter arm together until the red tab disappears, then tighten the black locking knob.
Fabric Replacement
Fabric Removal
- Remove the drip cap and hex head screws from the awning rail.
- Extend the awning fully, ensuring it is locked into place and secure with cotter pins.
- Remove the drive head assembly and idler head assembly retaining fasteners to separate the components.
- Support the roll tube assembly during removal to prevent injury or damage.
Installing Replacement Fabric
- Align the replacement fabric with the roll tube, ensuring the correct orientation.
- Center the fabric on the roll tube and secure with screws.
- Attach the drive head assembly to the roll tube, ensuring the correct orientation.
- Rotate the drive head assembly according to the turn chart provided for your awning size.
- Reinstall the roll tube assembly to the awning rail, ensuring the printed side of the fabric faces up.
- Secure the fabric in the awning rail with hex head screws.
Troubleshooting
- Awning will not extend or retract: Check cam lock position, ensure travel locks are released, and verify that the rafter arms are correctly aligned and not engaged.
- Fabric is loose or sags: Ensure fabric is square on the unit and properly secured to the awning rail. Check for damaged roll tube.
- Locking knob will not tighten: Inspect for damage and ensure no debris is lodged in the track arm(s).
- Awning will not roll up straight: Ensure fabric is centered and secured at both ends. Check for missing anchoring screws within the awning rail.
Maintenance - Solera Awnings
Fabric Care
- If retracted while wet, extend the awning to dry as soon as possible to prevent mildew.
- Clean fabric periodically with a mixture of dish soap and warm water, applying liberally and rinsing off after 5 minutes.
