Product Overview

The Saracen® Off-Road Hitch Lock, product code SHL400, is a high-security device designed to prevent theft of caravans, camper trailers, boat trailers, and general-purpose trailers. It is specifically compatible with Vehicle Components HITCHMASTER® DO35 trailer couplings.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of the Saracen® Off-Road Hitch Lock, apply a clear silicone lubricant or petroleum jelly to the male lock section regularly. This prevents the lock from seizing.

Usage

Constructed from specially hardened high-strength steel, the lock is resistant to cutting and drilling. It features a high-security, seven-pin barrel lock that resists picking, drilling, and gas freezing, making it an effective deterrent against theft.

User Instructions

Unlocking and Removing

• Remove the weather cap and insert the key into the lock.
• Push the key into the lock and turn it 90 degrees clockwise to unlock.
• Remove the locking pin from the housing.
• Remove the hitch enclosure.
• Remove the main body.

Fitting and Locking

• Ensure the van or trailer is unhitched from the tow vehicle.
• Tilt the DO35 hitch forward 90° so the pin receiving hole is horizontal.
• Insert the main body of the lock behind the hitch, ensuring the locating mount fits into the DO35 pin receiver.
• Fit the hitch enclosure to the front of the hitch lock assembly.
• Insert the locking pin into the hitch lock and lock it with the key.
• Attach the weather cap to the locking pin.

Caution: Keep keys in a safe place. Replacement keys are not available, but key blanks can be used to copy an existing key.
