Product Overview

The S4 Top Hung Window by Dometic Seitz GmbH is designed for use in caravans and similar vehicles. It features a top-hung design with both interior and exterior frames, a glazing panel, and various components for operation and sealing.

Installation and Replacement Procedures

Exterior Frame

Replacement

1. Dismounting: Remove interior frame caps and loosen all screws. Secure the window from outside to prevent falling.
2. Installation: Clean the sealing surface of the wall section. Use a suitable caulking material (permanently-plastic sealant mass, bead ø 6-8mm) around the frame corner. Screw exterior and interior frames together without over-tightening (max. torque 3 Nm).

Sealing Rubber

Replacement

1. Remove the old sealing rubber and clean adhesive residue.
2. Ensure the new sealing rubber's joint seats centrally below. Fix corners and the joint with superglue.

End Cap

Replacement

1. If broken, remove the rear leg of the flush end cap.
2. Bond the front side and leg to the frame hinge with superglue.

Interior Frame Components

Replacement Procedures

• Complete Interior Frame: Remove caps, loosen screws, and remove the frame.
• Fly Protection Window Blind: Loosen the spring drive motor, remove the blind by tilting the closure rod. For reinstallation, ensure the clamping bar is adjusted correctly (Tube length in mm/100 +3= rotations of the spring drive motor shaft clockwise).
• Shade Blind: Follow the procedure similar to the fly protection window blind.
• Spring Drive Motor: Dismantle the respective window blind, widen the slotted tube, and replace the motor.
• Close-off and Side Close-offs: Dismantle the interior frame, remove the window blind, and replace the close-off parts as needed.
• One-Hand Operation, Slider, and Swallowtail Section: Remove the interior frame and corresponding window blind, knock out bar receptacles, and replace the parts.

Windowpane and Components

Replacement Procedures

• Windowpane: Loosen fixing screws on the opener's articulated supports, unlock the pane, and carefully replace ensuring proper hinge alignment.
• Opener: Open the windowpane approx. 45°, clip off the opener, and replace.
• Rotary Clamp: Loosen at fixing screws and replace.

Troubleshooting

• Problem: Replacement of various components including the exterior frame, sealing rubber, end cap, interior frame, window blinds, spring drive motor, close-off parts, one-hand operation, slider, swallowtail section, windowpane, opener, and rotary clamp.
• Solution: Follow the detailed replacement procedures outlined above for each component.
