Thetford C200 CWE Pump Replacement Instructions

For Customer Service and Technical Staff

This document provides detailed instructions for the replacement of the pump in the Thetford C200 CWE toilet system. It is intended to assist customer service and technical staff in guiding customers through the pump replacement process or for direct use by technicians.

Preliminary Steps:

• Fuse Removal: Begin by locating and removing the fuse situated below the bowl in the waste tank housing (Illustration A).

• Bezel Removal:

  • Locate the bezel that houses the large blue flush button with the word Thetford embedded into it (Illustration B).
  • Use a paint scraper or a similar tool to lever up the bezel. Wrap the tool in a cloth to prevent damage to the toilet. Work slowly around the bezel to free it (Illustration C).

Accessing the Pump:

• Retainer Panel:

  • Once the bezel is removed, turn it over to reveal the retainer panel (Illustration D).
  • Locate and remove the 4 screws holding the panel in place using a crosshead screwdriver (Illustration E).
  • Remove the panel to reveal the water tank and pump (Illustration F).

• Pump Removal:

  • Extract the pump from the water tank as shown (Illustration G).
  • Disconnect the flush tube from the pump.

• Wire Preparation:

  • Cut the wire approximately 50mm from the pump (Illustration H).
  • Slide the heat shrink over the wire towards the main body of the toilet.
  • Strip the cables to reveal the bare wire.

• Wire Connection:

  • Crimp the bare ends together, ensuring that the colors match and a strong connection is made (Illustration I).
  • Slide the heat shrink back over the newly made connection and apply heat evenly to ensure the connection is covered and watertight (Illustration K).

• Reconnecting the Pump:

  • Re-attach the flush tube to the pump, ensuring it is pushed all the way back to the main body of the pump (Illustration L).

Reassembly:

• Pump and Vacuum Breaker Housing:

  • Return the pump and vacuum breaker to their housing in the water tank and clip the flush tube back in place (Illustration M).

• Panel Replacement:

  • Replace the panel and secure it using the 4 screws that were previously removed (Illustration N).

• Bezel Replacement:

  • Replace the bezel. If required, use some of the PTI sealant provided to ensure a clean seal.

• Final Steps:

  • Replace the fuse, add water to the water tank, and ensure the waste tank is back in place before testing (Illustration O & P).

Testing:

After reassembly, conduct a test to ensure the pump operates correctly and there are no leaks.
