Preparing for Use

Your portable toilet consists of two detachable sections: the waste-holding tank and the flush-water tank. Before use, it's essential to add special additives to both tanks to ensure proper function and hygiene. Add 3L of water to the waste-holding tank and fill the flush-water tank to the top. Check the additive package for the correct dosage and the toilet packaging for tank capacities.

Operating Instructions

Using the Toilet

• The toilet can be used with the blade open or closed. To open the blade, pull the valve handle. Always close the blade after use.
• For flushing, operate the pump with three or four short flushes for effectiveness. Only empty at authorized waste disposal points.

Emptying the Tanks

• Waste-Holding Tank: When full, disconnect from the flush-water tank, and empty at an authorized disposal point using the pour out spout. To avoid splashing, press and hold the vent button while emptying.
• Flush-Water Tank: Empty only if the toilet won't be used for a long period. Empty through the water fill opening and pump out the last drops.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Clean the toilet regularly with special portable toilet cleaning products. Do not use household cleaners as they may damage seals and components.
Maintain the waste-holding tank 2-3 times a year and lubricate seals with special lubricant when dry. Avoid Vaseline or vegetable oil.

Winter Use

Use the toilet as normal in cold weather if in a heated location. If there's a risk of frost, do not use the toilet and completely empty both tanks.

Storage

For long periods of non-use, empty, clean, and dry the toilet thoroughly. Leave the blade open and the water filler cap loose to prevent damage and allow ventilation.

Troubleshooting

• Level Indicator Not Working: Check if the float in the waste-holding tank is in place or obstructed by dirt.
• Blade Doesn’t Open: Overpressure from traveling may cause this. Unscrew the cap of the pour out spout and gently pull the blade handle sideways.

Warranty

Thetford offers a three-year guarantee, covering replacement or repair at its discretion for malfunctions within the warranty period. Conditions apply, including proper use and maintenance according to the manual. Damage from improper use or external factors, alterations, or use of non-Thetford products for care may void the warranty.

Disposal
