SinePower MSI912 & MSI1812T Inverter - Technical & Operational Guide
For Customer Service and Technical Staff
Overview
This guide provides comprehensive technical and operational information on the SinePower MSI912 and MSI1812T inverters. It is intended to assist customer service and technical staff in addressing inquiries and troubleshooting issues related to these inverters.
Safety Instructions
- General Safety: The manufacturer is not liable for damage due to faulty assembly/connection, mechanical influence, excess voltage, unauthorized alterations, or misuse.
- Installation and Operation: Installation should only be performed by qualified personnel. The inverter should not be used in damp, wet, or explosive environments, near flammable materials, or by individuals without proper supervision or understanding of its operation.
Installation
- Mounting: Can be mounted horizontally or vertically in a moisture-protected, well-ventilated area away from flammable materials and dust. Ensure a minimum clearance of 25 cm around the inverter for ventilation.
- Electrical Connection: Should only be performed by qualified personnel. The inverter must not be used on vehicles where the battery's positive terminal is connected to the chassis. A fuse must be fitted to the positive cable close to the battery. Cable specifications and fuse ratings are provided for each model.
Operation
- Switching On/Off: Use the main switch to turn the inverter on or off. The inverter performs a self-test upon switching on.
- Status Indications: "Input Level" and "Load Level" LEDs provide information on the input voltage range and power being supplied, respectively.
- Energy-Saving Mode: Can be activated to prevent quick battery discharge. Settings for energy-saving mode are adjustable via dip switches.
Technical Specifications
- Input Voltage: 12 V DC
- Output Power: MSI912 - 900 W, MSI1812T - 1800 W (with variations for continuous and peak output power)
- Output Voltage: 200 – 240 V AC pure sine wave
- Efficiency: Up to 89% for MSI912 and 90% for MSI1812T
- Ambient Operating Temperature: -20 °C to 40 °C (reduced power above 40 °C)
Troubleshooting
- Overvoltage/Undervoltage Shutdown: The inverter will shut off if the input voltage is too high or too low. Check the battery and connections.
- Overheating: Ensure the inverter is well-ventilated. If overheating occurs, switch off the inverter, wait, and then restart without load.
- Short Circuit/Excessive Load: The inverter will indicate a fault if a short circuit occurs or if the load exceeds its capacity. Check connections and remove excessive loads.
Accessories
- Remote Controls: MCR-7 (on/off sleep mode) and MCR-9 (LED power monitoring) are available for enhanced control and monitoring.
Warranty and Disposal
- Warranty: The statutory warranty period applies. For warranty service, include a copy of the receipt and a description of the fault.
- Disposal: Follow local regulations for the disposal of electronic products and packaging.
Additional Information
- Priority Circuit (MSI1812T only): If an external 230 V AC voltage is available, it will have priority over the inverter's output.
- Protective Mechanisms: Include overvoltage, undervoltage, excess temperature, overload shutdown, and incorrect polarity protection.
