Product Overview

The MAXXAIR MAXXShade models 3900 & 3901 are designed to mount over the MAXXFAN garnish ring, providing a shade option or a shade with "COOL WHITE" LED lighting for MAXXFAN or competitor’s vent fans. The shade is made from light-blocking material, and its frame offers passive ventilation.

Specifications

• Compatibility: Works with MAXXFAN and competitor’s vent fans (requires drilling holes in the competitor’s garnish ring for the adapter).

• Electrical Requirements (LED Model): Minimum 12 Volt DC, 2 amp service. Ensure the circuit is fused and uses appropriate gauge stranded wire for connections.

Safety Warnings

• Operation: Do not operate the fan when the shade is closed to prevent overheating.

• Installation and Maintenance: Should be performed by qualified personnel following all applicable codes and standards. Before servicing or cleaning, switch power off at the service panel and lock or tag the service disconnecting means to prevent accidental power on.

• Usage: For general ventilation only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials or vapors.

Installation Instructions

Pre-Installation

• Preparation: Disconnect main vehicle power before starting the installation, especially for the LED MAXXShade model.

• Tools and Assistance: Having a second person to assist with the installation is recommended.

Steps

1. Remove Garnish Ring Screws: Take out the four screws holding the garnish ring to the ceiling. Discard these screws. Be cautious to prevent the garnish ring from falling.

2. (LED MAXXShade Model) Connect LED Wires:

   • Insert the black LED wire into the closed end connector on the hinge side.
   • Slide the open side of the connector over the positive (+) power supply wire and close the clip to complete the circuit.
   • Repeat for the second power wire and white LED wire, ensuring wires are not entangled or caught during installation.

3. Assemble Adapter and Garnish Ring:

   • With the garnish ring removed, locate and gently pull the vehicle power supply wires to create slack for connecting the LED wires.
   • Place the adapter over the garnish ring and secure it to the ceiling with the four screws provided, ensuring power wires are not pinched.

4. Assemble MAXXShade Shroud:

   • Align the flanges of the MAXXShade shroud with the adapter and secure.

5. (LED MAXXShade Model) Restore Power:

   • Once the MAXXShade is securely installed, restore power to the vehicle.
