Caravan Washing Machines

A caravan accessory that is growing in popularity is the caravan washing machine. Having the convenience of being able to clean your clothes wherever you are is something a lot of caravaners a taking advantage of. With the prices of the washers coming down and the quality increasing a lot of people are upgrading from the earlier twin tub style to the fully automatic washing machines now available.

Camec have 2 styles to choose from, the 3kg top loader and the 4kg front loader. The top loader is a more compact lightweight option which are well suited to touring caravans. The smaller capacity and reduced weight are the main benefits of this style machine. The 4kg front loader is larger heavy option which is preferred by onsite caravaners. The benefits of front loading washing machines are they have a low water consumption and are considered better at cleaning clothes than top loaders. The Camec 3.5kg washing machine has 8 washing programs with multiple water level settings and a 800 RPM spin cycle.

The Camec 4kg front loader is a hot/cold washing machine. It has 6 washing programs to choose from with a 1000 RPM spin cycle, which great reduces drying time.

Caravan Covers

In 2017 Camec released their range of Premium Caravan Covers, all come standard with a 3 year warranty. The range includes covers to suit Camper trailers, Pop tops and full height Caravans, and will protect your caravan from the elements, and reduce premature decay.

Discovering the limited life span of earlier covers which only had a 1 year warranty, the 3 year warranty gives a good indication of the quality of the material used to construct the new premium range. Driven by the demand for higher quality covers, Camec has invested the time at the design stage to create a new industry standard.

The covers have been made with dual layers of fabric to achieve a light weight breathable cover that is also durable enough to withstand the harsh Australian conditions. To overcome the issue of the early deterioration, the new covers have a 300D water resistant UV 50 plus roof section. This section extends slightly down the sides to cover the roof corners which are high ware areas and prone to damage.

The sides are made from a water resistant highly breathable fabric which includes multiple vents. This design ensures your caravan drys quickly after rain to prevent mould and mildew growth. To complete the design they have also incorporated a reinforced skirt with dual nylon clips providing maximum strength for secure fastening.

Caravan Windows & Doors

Camec have been Manufacturing caravan windows & caravan doors for Australian caravans for decades. Camec's main manufacturing facility is located in Melbourne, with their range of windows and doors not only being designed for Australian conditions but are also built here too. They are made from high quality materials and constructed to survive harsh outback Australian conditions.

Camec Wind Out Windows (WOW) are an Australian industry standard and would be the most commonly installed window in earlier model caravan and still have a huge market share today. The Camec Odyssey window range is the newest version of these classic windows previously know as Jupiter or Australite. The Odyssey range has evolved to complement the style of new caravans being produced today, while maintaining all the key features and sizing to allow easy replacement of older windows.

These durable windows are made with a powder coated aluminum frame, tinted single glazed acrylic panel and a removable fly screen. The top hinge windows can be opened to a 70 degree angle by using the winder handle which can be placed at either end of the window.

The Camec Odyssey caravan doors are just as prevalent as their windows. The Odyssey range a designed with a 3 point locking system and available 3 styles; 4 square corner, 2 upper radius corners & 4 radius corners.

All 3 styles are available with black or white frames and left or right hinges. The standard Odyssey oors come with a black amplimesh security screen while the Premium Odyssey doors have a heavy duty stainless steel mesh screen. All doors include a lower vent to meet Australian gas regulations and are ADR approved for use in motorhomes.

Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH)

Weight Distribution Hitch's are sometimes be referred to as caravan sway bars, whatever you call them they can be a great towing aid. Here's how they work.

When to much weight is applied to the tow ball the rear of the car sags and the front raises, this greatly effects the handling (steering and stopping) of the car. WDH's are used to spread the weight being applied to the tow ball, keeping the caravan and tow vehicle level.

There are different grades of WDH, which one you need depends on how much ball weight you have. Camec have released Ball Weight Scales which are used not only used to determine what size WDH you require, but are also very handy to ensure you have correctly loaded your caravan before hitting the road.

Portable Toilets

If your camping in tents or your caravan doesn't have an ensuite, you can make your life a bit more comfortable with a Camec portable toilet. Small enough to be stored in a cupboard or under the bed, these are a convenient and affordable camping accessory. Based on the popular Porta Potti design the detachable waste tank has a large non-splash discharge pipe. They are available with a 10 or 20 litre waste tank.
