The new Vision S reversing system from Furrion provides high-performance vehicle observation system without the need to run cables from the monitor to the camera. CANBUS Connection Issues: We are aware some customers with certain vehicles including VW and RAM are losing connection. The Ram 1500 and other vehicle makes use of the vehicle's power wiring for sending of CANBUS signals to monitor vehicle peripherals.
The signals from the CANBUS are known to interfere with the operation of the camera. This is why the connection issue only appears intermittently when the vehicle's engine is running.
There are two known solutions to this issue, one is running a dedicated 12V line directly from the house batteries in your caravan, whilst the other is to install a noise filter on the wire powering the camera.
A device such as the Gator CANBUS Filter is an ideal solution for under $20 and can be purchased online (excluding CaravansPlus), specialty auto electrician stores or even Supercheap Auto.
