The vacuum breaker on this shower valve lets you attach a handheld shower set (sold separately). It has an anti-siphon device that will prevent the backflow contamination of your clean water supply. The anti-siphon device consists of an air hole that will drain water back out of the hose. Because of this, the vacuum breaker must be pointing downward.
