EuroVision Window Blind Re-tensioning Guide
This guide is designed for customer service and technical staff to assist customers with re-tensioning their EuroVision window blinds. This process is straightforward and primarily involves adjustments on the top right side of the blind, especially for blinds fitted with block-out at the bottom (rising up) and screen at the top (pulling down).
Preparatory Steps
Before starting the re-tensioning process, ensure you have read through these instructions completely.
If Removal is Necessary
In cases where the blind needs to be removed due to limited space, follow these steps:
- Locate the grey plug, which is approximately 10mm long, and slide it out. Be careful not to lose this plug.
- Open the container at both the top and bottom.
- Remove screws from all four corners of the blind assembly.
- Lift the entire blind assembly slightly to disengage it from the lugs at the top of the inner window frame.
- Once the plug is removed, a 6mm hex-shaped hole will be exposed. If you can access the side plugs without removing the blind from the wall, then removal is not necessary.
Re-tensioning Process
- Hex Plug Identification: Locate the hex plug situated in the center of what appears to be a round cap on each grey corner of the blind assembly. A pointed awl is required to remove this hex plug.
- Adjustment: Using a 6mm Allen Key, rotate it anti-clockwise while keeping pressure against the plug to avoid pulling the spring out of the container. This action will unscrew the larger plug, thereby adding more tension to the spring. Typically, 3 to 6 turns should suffice to add adequate tension.
- Securing the Adjustment: Once enough tension is achieved, continue holding the plug against the container and let it turn clockwise slightly. This will allow the plug to lock itself back in. Then, reinsert the small hex plug that was removed earlier.
Important Notes
- The adjustment only needs to be made to the top right side of the blind for blinds fitted with block-out at the bottom and screen at the top.
- Ensure all tools and plugs are securely handled to prevent loss or damage.
