SUPEX EASY HANG Stainless Steel Clothes Lines - Installation and Use Guide
Product Overview
The SUPEX EASY HANG Clothes Lines are designed to be mounted between the supporting arms of a caravan or RV awning. Each set includes two "U" shaped saddles and four stainless steel pop rivets for mounting. These lines are intended for temporary use and should be removed during travel to prevent damage to the vehicle.
Installation Tools Required
- Electric or battery drill
- 4mm drill bit
- Pop riveter
- Tape measure
- Pencil or pen (for marking drill points)
- 3mm hex key or 3mm drill bit (for line tension adjustment, hex key preferred)
- 8mm open-ended spanner
Installation Instructions
Fitting One Line
- Drill Holes: On the inside edge of the awning arm, drill a 4mm hole approximately 90mm below the awning roll. This is the central point for one saddle.
- Attach Saddle: Insert a pop rivet through one hole of the saddle (with the other hole pointing downwards along the awning arm) and then through the drilled hole. Use the pop riveter to secure.
- Ensure Alignment: Before drilling the next hole, ensure the saddle is aligned straight down the arm.
- Secure Saddle: Drill another 4mm hole through the remaining hole in the saddle into the awning arm. Secure with a pop rivet as before.
- Repeat on Opposite Arm: Follow the same steps to fit the saddle on the opposite awning arm at the other end of the caravan.
- Attach Clothes Line: Unroll the clothes line, remove the round type clip from the end pin, and place the line end over the saddle. Insert the pins through the saddle and secure with the clip.
- Adjust Tension: Use a 3mm hex key or drill bit to adjust the line tension by turning the tube fitting near the end of the line. Ensure there is some slack in the line for optimal use.
- Secure Adjustment: While holding the adjustment tool in place, tighten the nuts onto the tube fitting to secure the tension.
Fitting a Second Line
Install the second line approximately 60mm below the first line, following the same steps as above.
Removal and Storage
- Removal: To remove the clothes line, turn the end clips on pins to release, remove the pin, and lift the line from the saddle. Reattach the pin and clip for storage.
- Storage: Roll the clothes line into a circle approximately 300mm in diameter, looping the ends through the center to secure. Store inside the caravan.
Troubleshooting
- Line Flapping or Marking Vehicle: Ensure the clothes line is removed when traveling and not overly tightened during use.
- Difficulty Adjusting Tension: Check that the nuts are loosened before attempting to adjust the tension with the hex key or drill bit.
