Important Safety Instructions for Installation

Servicing the Awning
- A NOTICE! Prepare a smooth, clean area for the fabric roller tube assembly to prevent fabric damage.
- I NOTE A stepladder may be necessary to reach the awning rail.
Removing the Awning
- Save all mounting materials for reinstallation.
- ! CAUTION! Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
- Keep arm assemblies parallel and maintain the roll-down position of the awning safety lock to prevent uncontrolled unwinding.
Removing the Torsion Rods
- ! WARNING! Securely pin the torsion rod before removal to prevent rapid casting spin-off due to spring tension.
- Pin both torsions to prevent uncontrolled unwinding.
Replacing the Awning Fabric/Fabric Roller Tube
- Discard old fabric roller tube and awning fabric if replacing both.
- Keep old fabric on the work surface for protection during installation.
Replacing the Torsion Rods
Follow the procedure for replacing torsion rods carefully to avoid injury from spring tension.
Wind Torsion Rods
Use extreme care when winding/unwinding the arm cap.
- The number of turns for correct torsion spring tension varies by awning width:
- 8 ft – 12 ft: 8 turns
- 13 ft – 14 ft: 9 turns
- 15 ft – 16 ft: 10 turns
- 17 ft – 21 ft: 12 turns
- Add 2 turns if the awning is installed and extended 2 revolutions from the awning rail, and 6 additional turns when fully extended.
Reattach Torsion
! WARNING! Do not remove the nail from the torsion rod until arm caps are secured and the awning safety lock lever is in the roll-down position.
Remount the Awning
Follow the installation and operating manual for remounting the awning.
Verifying the Installation
Operate the awning to verify all parts are functioning correctly as per the Installation and Operating Manual.
Disposal
- Recycle packaging material appropriately.
- Consult local recycling centers or specialist dealers for product disposal in accordance with regulations.
