Product Overview

Key Components
- Lock Button: Used to release the lock plate.

- Tow Pin: Available in 7/8” UNF (AU) or 1” UNF (US) sizes.

Installation and Operation
Mounting the DO35 Tow Pin
- Australian Couplings: Use a spring washer and 7/8” nut, torque to 440Nm (325lbs.ft).
- American Couplings: Use a spring washer and 1” UNF nut, torque to 530Nm (390lbs.ft).
Bolting the DO35 Coupling onto Trailer Drawbar
Use four new bolts, minimum M12 Class 8.8 or ½” Grade 5, torqued appropriately. Do not weld the coupling to the drawbar. Ensure a drawbar weight between 50kg (110lb) and 350kg (772lb).
Use of Weight Distribution Hitches
Compatible with load distribution hitches as long as the coupling movement is not obstructed and the maximum load is not exceeded.
Hitching Procedure
- Remove Tow Pin Cover.
- Clean and lightly lubricate Tow Pin and Universal.
- Adjust trailer height above vehicle Tow Pin.
- Push and hold Lock Button, open Lock Plate fully.
- Align and lower Coupling onto Tow Pin.
- Release Lock Button to lock the coupling.
- Attach Checklock cap until it snaps in place.
Maintenance
- Keep Tow Pin and Universal clean and greased.
- Check Tow Pin O-Ring and replace if necessary.
- Lubricate grease points regularly.
- Check bolts for tightness.
- Adjust Slotted Nut & Pin as needed.
- Flush locking mechanism with clean water if it does not open fully.
Safety
- Keep hands clear during attachment.
- Attach trailer safety chains during coupling or uncoupling.
- Do not use for recovery purposes.
Handbrake Attachment
Handbrakes are preassembled on certain models. For others, a handbrake kit (56A-HB-V3) can be purchased and installed following the provided instructions.
