Installation Process
1. Preparation
- Packers: The door and frame are secured with four rubber packers, located between the inner door and frame and near the door lock. Do not remove these until the outer frame is secured.
2. Cut Out
- Measure and cut out the hole according to the door size. Ensure there is embedded reinforcement around the hole for the striker back brace and cover.
3. Outer Frame Installation
- Preparation: Verify packers are in place.
- Sealing: Apply sealing compound on the door frame.
- Positioning: Place the door frame into the caravan cut-out in the desired position.
- Securing: Attach the door frame to the caravan frame with at least one screw in each corner. Ensure the door frame is fixed and immobile.
- Gap Check: Ensure minimal gap between the door frame and caravan frame to prevent distortion and ensure lock engagement.
- Final Fixing: Open the inner door, remove packers, and complete securing the door frame.
4. Door and Lock Function Check
- Lock Mechanism: Ensure the lock opens and closes freely, and the central lock tongue engages easily with the striker plate.
- Dead Bolts: Verify smooth operation of top and bottom dead bolts.
- Release Lever: Check that the security door separates from the outer door as intended.
5. Rubber Trim Fixing
- Choose the rubber trim based on wall thickness (30-35mm or 25-29mm/36-40mm). Ensure tight fitting to avoid wrinkles, and glue the joints if necessary.
6. Striker and Door Holder Installation
- Striker Back Brace: Secure with M5X12 screws.
- Striker Plastic Cover: Attach as illustrated.
- Door Holder Bracket: Install the āDā shaped door holder on the caravan wall.
7. Final Steps
- Remove any excess glue material around the door.
- Ensure the door is firmly fixed before use.
- Always lock the door during travel to prevent damage.
Important Notices
- Lock State During Travel: The door must be locked to avoid accidents.
- Handle Rotation: Avoid rotating the handle when the door is open to prevent the dead bolt from hitting the striker.
Troubleshooting
- Lock Engagement: If the dead bolt does not smoothly engage, adjust the striker up or down.
- Handle Force: If excessive force is needed, adjust the striker back and forth for easier operation.
