The screen reduces the effects of the sun on the wall and upper and lower vents by providing shade, without effecting air flow.Many absorption fridges can suffer from reduced efficiency at high ambient temperatures. Two proven methods increase the efficiency , one is to increase airflow by installing a fan behind the fridge, the other is to ensure the fridge vents are in shade. Both methods compliment each other.
