The Carry-Bike is a bike carrier specifically designed for Volkswagen T5 and T6/T6.1 models with a single rear door, enabling van conversion and campervan functionalities. It is purpose-built to accommodate these vehicle models, excluding versions with a chrome-plated lower tailgate rail, Comfortline series, or those with electric tailgates.

• Compatibility:

  • Suitable for VW T5 (2003-2014) and T6/T6.1 (2014 onwards) models: Transporter, Caravelle, Multivan, California.
  • Not suitable for vehicles with chrome-plated lower tailgate rail or Comfortline series.

• Capacity:

  • Carries up to 4 standard bikes or 2 E-Bikes.
  • Maximum loading weight: 60kg.

• Dimensions and Weight:

  • Weight ranges between 9.1kg (VW T5) and 9.2kg (VW T6).
  • Distance between rails: 15cm.

• Installation:

  • Installation is straightforward using supplied brackets without the need to drill the vehicle.
  • Option to extend the rail support base up to 76cm if configured with 4 rails.
  • The tailgate can be opened with the bike carrier mounted when no bikes are loaded.

Installation Instructions

1. Bracket Installation:

   Ensure all brackets are secured according to the provided diagram. No drilling is required; simply attach using standard supplied fittings.

2. Additional Rails and Bike-Blocks:

   To transport up to 4 bikes, additional Bike-Block Pro S2 and Pro S4, along with Rail Plus, are necessary. Ensure the lightest bicycle is loaded on the outer rail for balance and support.

3. Third and Fourth Bike Installation:

   For third bike: Use Bike-Block Pro S 2 (Item No. 08831A01-) and Rail Plus.
   For fourth bike: Use Bike-Block Pro S 4 (Item No. 08831C01-) and Rail Plus.

   Recommended min and max dimensions for safety:
   Third Bike: Min 240mm - Max 280mm
   Fourth Bike: Min 540mm - Max 570mm

Upgrade Information

• Vehicle Upgrade:

  For users transitioning from VW T5 to T6/T6.1, a Kit Upgrade (Item No. 98656-988) is available, allowing the carry-bike to be adapted to the new model. Weight of kit: 0.7kg.
