Installation Steps
Installing an Awning Rail
- Position the awning rail at roof line or 6" above doors/windows. Ensure it's level.
- Mark position with chalk line.
- Seal back of rail with silicone sealant or putty tape.
- Secure with #10 x 3/4” screws, spreading the end of the rail for fabric insertion.
- File any sharp edges and lubricate the rail track with silicone.
Assembling the Awning
- Lay out arms and rollbar assembly on a flat surface.
- Attach left arm to roll bar using a 1/4-20 x 7/16 Quadrex Drive screw.
- Attach right arm, ensuring the brake lever is engaged with the remote lock.
- Confirm awning width from arm centerline to centerline.
Mounting the Bottom Mounting Brackets
- Mark arm centerlines on the awning rail.
- Mark a perpendicular line down to the floor line for arm centerlines.
- Attach bottom mounting brackets centered on these lines using 1/4 x 2 1/2" lag screws.
Mounting the Awning
- Adjust arm length to match the distance from awning rail to bottom brackets.
- Insert canopy into awning rail and align arms with centerline marks.
- Secure arms into bottom brackets and remove safety items to allow fabric to roll up.
- Attach upper mounting brackets to vehicle structure using 1/4 x 3" lag screws.
Additional Installation Steps
- Installing the Stop Bolt: Adjust arm length for level alignment and secure with a 1/4-20 x 7/16 quadrex head screw.
- Securing the Fabric: Secure canopy fabric or Alumaguard with #6 x 3/8" hex head screws.
- Installing Rubber Bumpers: Apply bumpers on the upper brace to tighten awning arms in travel position.
Factory Installed LEDs (Optional)
- Mounting Options: In roller tube or at awning rail.
- Specifications: 1A, 12Vdc, Bright White 6000K, controlled by a single pole switch.
- Installation Notes: Secure wire to vehicle wall, avoid sharp edges or heat sources. Use silicone sealant for wire routing and attachment.
Switch Installation
- Cut a 1 1/8" x 1 1/2" hole for the switch.
- Wire the switch with .187, 18-24 awg female disconnects.
- Install a 2A in-line fuse between the switch and power source.
- Secure the switch with #6 x 1/2" screws and cover with bezel.
