The Altitude awning by Carefree of Colorado is a motorized RV awning designed for ease of use, durability, and style. It features unique "scissor" style arms that eliminate the need for vertical ground supports, making it an ideal choice for RV owners looking for a blend of style, quality, and economy.
To extend or retract the awning, press and hold the Patio Switch until the awning reaches the desired position, then release the switch.
Ensure the canopy lays smoothly over the roller tube and the valance hangs straight down when extended.
Avoid overextending the awning to prevent damage and ensure proper fabric tension.
The awning arms offer 6 pitch adjustment settings, allowing for easy customization of shade and rain runoff.
Adjustments can be made with the awning open or closed, ensuring the locking pins engage in the desired holes.
Regularly hose off the fabric with clear water to prevent dirt buildup.
For thorough cleanings, use a soft brush, warm water, and soap. Avoid detergents and hot water.
Allow the fabric to air-dry completely before retracting.
The vinyl-coated polyester fabric is mildew resistant. In high humidity areas, more frequent cleanings may be necessary.
To prevent fabric distortion from pooling, retract the awning in steps to dump accumulated water.
Stitching on vinyl canopies may allow water to seep through. Treat seams with a quality seam sealer if necessary.
Keep the arms and braces clean to ensure smooth operation. Wash out channels with water and, if needed, apply a dry silicone lubricant to joints and pivot points after cleaning.
In case of power loss, the awning can be retracted using a 10V-14V power source. Do not use a 110V source as it will cause damage.
Awnings are designed for shade and protection from the sun. Retract in windy conditions or during extended periods of rain.
LED lighting (if installed) should be turned off when the awning is retracted to prevent damage.
Keep all sources of heat and flame away from the awning canopy.
Adjustments and repairs not described in this manual should be performed by trained technicians at an Authorized Carefree Dealer to avoid voiding the warranty.
