Repair Instructions
Disassembly
- Remove the Tissue Well: Start by taking the tissue well out of the C2 toilet to access the pump area.
- Remove the Tissue Holder: Proceed to take the tissue holder out. This will reveal the location of the pump and the pump retainer.
- Pump Removal: Unscrew the screw on the pump retainer. Carefully take the complete pump out of the water tank.
- Disconnect the Flush Tube: Detach the flush tube from the pump. Note that cassette toilets produced between 1987 and 1989 have two black connectors on the white cable. For these models, cut the white cable above the black connectors and remove both connectors.
Preparing the New Pump
- Cut the Cable: Use a cutter to cut the cable just above the pump. Remove the white wire insulation carefully, ensuring the blue and brown wires remain intact.
- Strip the Wires: Use a wire stripper to strip the blue and brown wire ends.
- Prepare for Connection: Place the pump retainer and shrink tube on the new pump before making any wire connections.
Connecting the New Pump
- Wire Connection: Connect the wires by matching the colors (blue to blue, brown to brown) using shrink pliers.
- Secure the Connection: Use a hot-air gun to melt the shrink tube. Ensure to move the gun from left to right for an even melt. This step is crucial to prevent the wires from coming into contact with water in the tank.
- Shrink Tube Inspection: Ensure the shrink tube is completely melted onto the white wire insulation to avoid any potential short circuits.
Reassembly
- Reattach the Flush Tube: Connect the flush tube back onto the pump and securely screw the pump back into the water tank.
- Replace the Tissue Holder: Place the tissue holder back into its original position within the water tank.
- Replace the Tissue Well: Finally, place the tissue well back into the water tank to complete the reassembly process.
Important Notes
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent water ingress and potential short circuits.
- For cassette toilets produced between 1987 and 1989, special attention is needed when handling the white cable with black connectors.
- Always verify the pump is correctly positioned and securely fastened to avoid leaks or operational issues.
