Installation and Operation
Installation Tips
- Exhaust Pipe Length: Keep as short as possible to avoid carbon buildup.
- Fuel Monitoring: Regularly check the fuel level to prevent running out. Re-priming can be time-consuming.
- Startup Cycle: Expect a 3-minute cycle to prepare the chamber for ignition. Look for a flame on the display to confirm ignition.
- Shutdown Cycle: Allow 3-5 minutes for shutdown to ensure no fuel is left unburned, which could cause smoke and carbon buildup.
Operation
- Power On/Off: Short press the power button.
- Mode Change (Manual Heat/Smart Mode): Short press the round dial.
- Manual Heat Mode: Adjust fan speed and heat output from Level 1 to 10.
- Smart Mode: Set a target temperature between 8degC to 36degC. The heater will automatically adjust to maintain this temperature.
Cooling and Heating Process
- Cooling: The unit must be allowed to cool down properly after turning off to prevent damage and carbon buildup.
- Heating Response: Once the target temperature is reached, the unit will stop burning fuel and reignite if the temperature drops.
Fan Mode
To activate, press and hold the round dial while pressing the power button for 3 seconds.
Maintenance
Monthly Checks
- Run Heater on High: For at least 15 minutes to ensure circulation.
- Check Duct Attachments: Ensure they are secure and vents are clear.
- Inspect Vehicle Undercarriage: Post-road trip to check for damage or movement, especially around the exhaust and muffler due to high temperatures.
Safety Warnings
- Combustible Materials: Keep away from the exhaust pipe.
- Exhaust Obstructions: Maintain a 75mm clearance around the exhaust.
- Fuel Type: Use only diesel.
- Exhaust Management: Ensure indoor installations vent exhaust outside to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Component Use: Do not modify or replace parts with non-Born To Roam parts.
Bluetooth Controller Operations
