About the JControl

The JControl interfaces with the J35 system to monitor caravan battery voltage, charging/discharging current, and water levels in up to four tanks. It also controls a water pump, all from a wall-mounted display within the caravan.

Description of Parts

1. AC Connected: Indicates connection to AC mains.
2. Battery Off: Activated by pressing the battery button or automatically to preserve battery.
3. Battery Low: Activates when voltage falls below the set threshold (default 11V).
4. Battery Button: Enables Sleep Mode; acts as EDIT in Set-Up mode.
5. Settings Button: For entering Set-Up mode; acts as BACK in Set-Up mode.
6. Backlight Button: Controls the screen backlight; acts as UP-scroll in Set-Up mode.
7. Water Pump Button: Controls the water pump; acts as DOWN-scroll in Set-Up mode.
8. Input Amps: Shows current from auxiliary and solar inputs.
9. Water Pump Status Indicator: Shows the status of the water pump.
10. Volts: Displays battery voltage.
11. Amps: Shows battery charging/discharging current.
12. Tank Level Indicators: Monitors up to four water tanks.
13. Time Remaining: Estimates time until battery discharge.
14. Battery Capacity Bar Graph: Displays battery capacity and charging status.

Operating Instructions

The JControl automatically powers on with the J35 and displays initial data on the startup screen. If communication with the J35 fails, "Err to" is displayed, indicating a need to check the data cable.

Set-Up Mode

Accessed by holding the SETTINGS button, Set-Up mode allows configuration of display settings, battery information, alarms, and tank monitoring.

Exiting Set-Up Mode

Press BACK repeatedly or wait for automatic return to the Home screen.

Configuring Settings

• Clock: Set in 12-hour or 24-hour format.
• Water Tank Monitoring: Enable/disable monitoring and configure tank type (clean/dirty).
• Battery Capacity: Set according to the connected battery (50-600AH).
• Battery Alarm: Adjust low voltage warning threshold (10.0-14.0V).
• LCD Backlight: Adjust brightness level (0-100%).

Advanced Functions

• Clear External Shunt: For use with BC300 + CommLink, clears external shunt memory.
• Adjusting Bulk Voltage: Adjusts the maximum charging voltage (13.6-14.8V). Caution advised.

Troubleshooting

• JControl Screen Off: Check if the load isolation switch is activated or if the J35 is in Storage Mode.
• Flashing Battery Volts and Amps: Indicates lost communication with an external shunt. Use the EShunt function to clear.

Do not attempt to service the JControl yourself. For servicing, consult BMPRO support.
