Introduction
The BMPRO BC300 External Shunt and CommLink devices are designed for wireless battery monitoring within high current BatteryPlus35 and J35 systems. These devices allow for direct connection of high current loads to the battery, enhancing system behavior with temperature monitoring for greater protection and maintaining accurate Time Remaining and State of Charge determinations.

Safety Precautions
- Read and observe all safety precautions before installation.
- Avoid short circuits by not dropping or touching metal objects onto battery terminals.
- Batteries are electrically live at all times; handle with extreme caution.
- Keep the device dry and do not expose it to water.
- Use only in environments that are not excessively hot, cold, dusty, humid, or exposed to strong magnetic fields.
- Use only the cable supplied with the device.
- Do not attempt to dismantle, modify, or repair the device yourself.

Installation Guide
Mounting and Connection
Safety First: Disconnect all connections to the battery before starting.
CommLink Connection: Connect the CommLink to the BatteryPlus35 or J35 CAN bus using the provided data cable.
Battery Connection: Connect the BC300 External Shunt to the battery negative terminal using the provided connector.
Load Connection: Connect all negative load connections to the BC300 External Shunt.
Positive Load Connection: Connect all positive load connections, including the BC300 External Shunt’s positive flying lead, to the battery positive terminal.
Pairing Process
Check CommLink Status:
- If flashing green, it is already paired.
- If flashing orange, it requires pairing.
- If flashing red, clear the pairing and proceed to pair again.
Initiate Pairing: Short press the CommLink pair button to start pairing. Wait up to 1 minute for completion.
Successful Pairing: The CommLink status indicator will flash green at 5-second intervals when successfully paired.

- BC300 External Shunt Battery Indicator:
- Blue: Available for pairing.
- Green: Normal operation.
- Red: Fault detected (voltage, current, temperature issues).
- CommLink Status Indicator:
- Orange: Not paired.
- Blue: Pairing.
- Green: Normal operation.
- Red: Not receiving data.
