Hoses and Pipes

At Caravans Plus we supply 3 styles of water hose or pipe, all are plastic.

1) Clamp on hoses use hose clamps to seal and hold in position. Some sizes are not a perfect fit and may need hot water to soften hose. Not usually used for pressure systems, except the Drinking water hose that brings mains pressure water from the tap to the RV. We suggest not using clip-on fittings for your main inlet hose.

PVC Clear water hose is provided for fixing existing installations. The 25mm hose has a fairly large radius if you want to bend without kinking. The 12mm hose often used from hand pump to water tank, is susceptible to algae build up due to the light.

2) Qicktite system can be used for all hot and cold water, under pressure. All connections are screw type with a nut, clip and cone that slide onto the pipe. When screwed up these give a secure connection. The cone and clip are not re-usable if the connection has to be moved along the pipe.

3) Our preferred system is the push-on fittings by John Guest or DM-fit or Whale. Colour coded pipe suits hot and cold pressure water. The 12mm is suitable for most Caravan & Motorhome applications. The 15mm is provided to match some existing systems, or really large installations where more than one appliance may be using water at the same time. All fittings are easy to put together, particularly where turning a spanner in a cramped location is not possible. All parts can be reused if your design changes.
